ZERO EMISSION ELECTRIC DELIVERY FLEET

We have fully transitioned to electric delivery vehicles - our new fleet comprises entirely of Citroën Ë-Dispatch Electric vans. Our zero tailpipe emission vans also have a positive impact on air and noise pollution.
CONSOLIDATED DELIVERIES & REDUCED DELIVERY SCHEDUES

We continue to optimise the delivery of multiple orders into consolidated shipments. Customers are encouraged to place as many orders as they wish, at their convenience, 24/7. However, deliveries are then made to an agreed schedule. Consolidating into reduced delivery schedule can reduce energy use of transportation by as much as 70%
ROUTE OPTIMISATION

Our route planning software ensures we minimise the average number of planned miles per delivery. Satellite navigation enables real time adjustments based on traffic and weather conditions. Better planned routes result in less failed deliveries, which further reduces delivery miles. Since 2008 we have achieved a 72% reduction in delivery miles.
OUT OF HOURS DELIVERIES

By agreement, we deliver to certain customers over night and in the early hours - according to data collected by the World Economic Forum, night-time deliveries can reduce road-time by up to 15% which reduces the amount of fuel and energy used.
ORDER FULFILLMENT & ACCURACY

Our just in time, multi-channel stock strategy ensures we maximise order fulfilment, minimising back-orders which lead to additional deliveries. Our line pick accuracy levels at 99.6% ensure carbon expensive returns are minimised
SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

Our packaging boxes are made from at least 60% recycled material is FSC® certified. No glue is used in the production process meaning that the whole box can be recycled without any issues. We choose not to print our company logo or any other marketing on our boxes in order to minimise ink which facilitates low carbon recycling We do not use single-use plastic packaging at our Smart Logistics Hub and have a target of 100% recyclable packaging by 2025.
SUPPLY CHAIN

Indirect greenhouse gas emissions from sources not owned or directly controlled by our business, include all products bought by UKOS. Our Sustainable Supplier Assessment reviews supplier sustainability performance. The methodology relies recognised international standard: ISO 14020 which is at the highest level of the ISO Environment Claims standards.
COLLECTION OF USED PRODUCTS
